Chapter 07 / Company & Direction
A shared direction starts with understanding what we are building and why. House gives your agency’s mission, values, plans, and quarterly priorities a place in the same conversation.

Alignment first
We believe leadership starts by making the purpose clear enough for people to see their part in it. A mission, a value, or a priority should help someone make a decision in the work ahead.
House gives that thinking a shared home. Alignment still asks something of us: to talk, listen, choose, and follow through. The page holds the direction. The team brings it to life.

Planning brings together focus and niche, long-term targets, marketing strategy, a three-year picture, annual goals, quarterly targets, rocks, and issues. Planning access is deliberately controlled.
A fictional agency · One quarterly rock
A purpose with someone’s name on it.
Authorized planners set the quarter’s rocks and owners. Record issues where the team can return to them, and share planning sections deliberately.
Owners can add progress and update their rocks. The plan gives leadership and the people doing the work a common reference.
Review the quarter, choose which unfinished rocks to carry forward, and keep the history. A new quarter starts with an explicit decision about what continues.
Direction, brought back to the work
Keep the promises made to the work this week.
Company foundations are team-visible by default. Planning uses designated viewers and editors, with deliberate section sharing. It is separate from ordinary Learning publishing.
No. Financial targets require both the relevant planning access and company-wide Economics authorization. Sharing a strategy section does not share its financial information.
Company & Direction, in the whole House
Direction becomes useful when people can return to it, act on it, and recognize their contribution.
Mission, vision, and values have canonical company records. The handbook references them, so the team returns to a shared source.
